The Tavern on Maple Street Bought this at a book sale Slow start, but a nice finish. I love stories set in Ireland This one was so nice all the way through I could do without the language, alcohol, and immorality but the story itself was nice and entertaining. Brimming With Wit, Warmth, And Irish Humor, This Saga Offers The Tale Of The Married Owners Of A Friendly Tavern In Belfast And The Intimate Lives Of The Customers And Employees Who Band Together To Save It From Demolition. I thought it was cute..it reminded me of Maeve Binchy in a way It does take place in Ireland, which I like Cute story The narrator isn t one I d seek out again but by no means off putting, simply ok The story is mostly a cast of interesting characters but that was fun for a shorter listening experience They all had quirks making somerelatable than others I d consider another book by this author. I loved the concept of the little old pub set back in a quite street in Belfast It didn t let me down there I do think the author over stereotyped a number of the characters, so you will need to look past that The ending is Looking for Binchy read alikes and this fits the bill Maybe Binchy light I will say, i didnt love the characters, Bridget in particular was very annoying, but the story was nice. Sweet story.
